Community bus services
The community bus services are operated by ACT's Regional Community Services and provide flexible transport options for ACT residents.
Flexible bus service
A flexible bus service operates in particular zones to help Canberra residents, such as the aged or people with a mobility difficulty, to get from their home to local community locations.
Special Needs Transport for students (SNT)
Students with disability may be eligible for Special Needs Transport (SNT) under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Bus fleet accessibility improvement plan
Most of the Canberra bus fleet offers easy access as well as services for hearing, vision and mobility impaired users. Transport Canberra is working towards making all buses wheelchair accessible by 2022.
ACT Taxi Subsidy Scheme (TSS)
The ACT Taxi Subsidy Scheme (TSS) provides financial assistance to ACT residents with a disability or significant mobility restriction preventing them using public and community transport.
Wheelchair Accessible Taxi (WAT) centralised booking service
A central booking service that enables people to order a wheelchair accessible taxi, developed through consultation with people with disability and representatives of disability organisations.
Disability Parking
An Australian disability parking permit may be issued to a person with disability (or organisations that provide transport for people who meet the eligibility) through Access Canberra.
Community Assistance and Support Program (CASP)
The Community Assistance and Support Program (CASP) supports you and your carer with daily living activities you may find difficult due to a health issue that comes and goes or is short-term.
