Disability Reference Group
The ACT Disability Reference Group helps the ACT Government to implement Australia's Disability Strategy 2021-2031.
ACT Inclusion Council
The ACT Inclusion Council is a Canberra group of business, government and community leaders that work in partnership with the community to develop initiatives that value and engage people with disability as customers, suppliers, employees and employers in business.
Disability Justice Reference Group
The Disability Justice Reference Group provides advice, fosters cooperative linkages across the justice and disability sectors, and guides the development and implementation of the ACT Disability Justice Strategy.
Disability Education Reference Group
The Disability Education Reference Group is a consultative forum that provides an opportunity for the community to have an important role in formulating advice to the ACT Education Directorate on the education of students with disability in ACT public schools.
Advocacy, information and peer support
There are a range of organisations providing advocacy, information and peer support to people with disabilities in Canberra, including: Advocacy for Inclusion, ADACAS, People With Disabilities ACT (PWDACT), Women With Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) and Imagine More.
The Future is Inclusive podcast
We all want to be an ally for people with disability. But we don’t always know how. By listening to the perspectives of people with disability, this ten-part series gives insiders’ perspectives and advice to allies on how to “tool up” and make the world a richer and better place through supporting inclusion.
ACT Carers Strategy
This document sets out a strategy to inform the enhancement of existing processes and development of new processes to support people providing care (usually unpaid), including foster and kinship Carers.
Child Development Service (CDS)
The Child Development Service offers assessment, referral, information and linkages for children 0-6 years where there are concerns relating to their development.
Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards (CMIAs)
The CMIAs provide acknowledgement of the outstanding achievements of businesses, organisations and individuals who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in inclusion and access.
Inclusion in Employment Project
Canberra Business Chamber, the ACT Inclusion Council and the ACT Government have partnered and formed the Inclusion in Employment Project to expand employment opportunities for people with disability in Canberra’s private sector.
Leadership development
The ACT Government is supporting the next generation of disability leaders through a range of programs and scholarships to equip them with the skills they need for the future.
