Charles Weston School Coombs - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Charles Weston School Coombs is a finalist for the Inclusion in Education and Training award at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

Since opening in 2016, Charles Weston School Coombs (CWSC) has committed to being a fully inclusive P-6 school, striving to make all learning spaces accessible to all. The school currently has 19 students with a diagnosed physical or intellectual disability, and there are 83 students requiring cognitive, physical, social and sensory adjustments. CWSC has a Student Achievement Team, as opposed to a Special Needs Team, made up of a range of professionals with varying expertise who bring a unique perspective.

All students at CWSC are fully included in their age-cohort classes. Through this inclusive setting, there are daily opportunities for all students to learn about and practice inclusion, compassion, collaboration, and friendship.
