Marymead Autism Centre is a finalist for the Excellence in Inclusive Services and Disability Support award at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!
Marymead Autism Centre is a source of support for children and families with Autism in Canberra. It is currently run by five extremely dedicated and knowledgeable part-time staff, who work tirelessly to provide the many support services not available elsewhere.
The Centre tailors services to essential needs, supports the aspirations of their clients to participate in work and community activities (through mentors and support groups), co-designs programs with participants and enables connections through community collaborations. For many people with autism, more inclusive access to things the wider community take for granted is only possible because of the work the Centre does.
