School to Work: Imagining Work (Years 7-8)
Learn how students with disability in Years 7 and 8 and their families can start thinking about meaningful work during and after school. We’ll help you and your student to imagine the valued work roles they can strive towards.
With the school year coming to an end, this is a great time to discover more about yourself, your interests, needs and strengths. It is also an exciting time to imagine your future career.

In this 60-minute live webinar, you will
Learn why having a job is important for everyone, especially people with disability
Understand the importance of having a clear vision for your student’s future
See examples of vision statements and learn how to create your own
Learn how to identify your student’s attributes, strengths and interests
Understand how to map attributes, strengths and interests to potential future work roles
Learn how your student can start acquiring the skills needed for employment
Understand how to create early work opportunities and valued social roles for your student
Discover how to spark your student’s awareness and curiosity about work
See examples of what is possible. We’ll share stories of young people with disability
doing work experience
having part-time jobs while still at school
entering paid work as school leavers and
establishing their own microenterprise (small business).
