Mary Mallett - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Mary Mallett is a finalist for the Excellence in Championing Human Rights and Equality award at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

Mary Mallett is the CEO of Disability Advocacy Network Australia - DANA, a national peak body for independent disability advocacy organisations in Australia. In this professional role, Mary is passionately dedicated to advancing the rights of people with disability and ensuring access to independent disability advocacy across Australia.

Personally, Mary lives her commitment to inclusion and equality in her chosen living arrangements and friendships. When she moved to Canberra in 2014, Mary chose Community Connections' Homeshare program to find a home in the ACT. Through this decision, Mary has forged a strong friendship with her housemate Melinda, a woman with intellectual disability. She continues to share a home with Melinda and another individual with disability.
