Inclusion in Employment Project
The ACT Government supports the ACT Inclusion Council, which is a Canberra group of business, government and community leaders that work in partnership with the community to develop initiatives that value and engage people with disability as customers, suppliers, employers and employees in business, the arts and sport.
The Inclusion in Employment project commenced in December 2017 and concluded at the end of October 2019. The project was a partnership between the ACT Inclusion Council, Canberra Business Chamber and Office for Disability. The project was created to expand employment opportunities for people with disability in Canberra's private sector, delivering tangible outcomes for people with disability in attaining employment.
The Inclusion in Employment project delivered eight peer to peer information sessions, with a total of over 280 businesses and organisations in attendance. 24 people with disability were employed as a direct result of the project.

For people with disability, employment means much more than just a job. Employment brings:
- Sense of participation
- A place in the community
- Ability to contribute
- A goal to reach
- Something to be proud of
- Ultimately – inclusion
Employers can drive this sort of success and be responsible for change.
