An Expression of Interest is currently open for the Official Visitor for Disability Services.

The Official Visitor for the purposes of the Disability Services Act 1991 plays a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the interests of people with disability in operated supported accommodation and residential age care and inquiring into complaints.

Official Visitors are responsible for making inquiries and visits as set out in the Official Visitor Act 2012, the relevant operational legislation the Disability Services Act 1991, the Official Visitor Guidelines and other supporting material.

The Official Visitor seeks to identify, monitor and resolve issues locally using early intervention and resolution practices.

The Official Visitor reports to the Minister for Disability and advises on entitled peoples experiences, needs and the standard of the services they receive.
