Personal and community support
Established in 2017, the ACT Social Enterprise Network is a joint initiative of the Mill House Ventures Limited and ACTCOSS.

ACTCOSS aim to provide regular networking and educational gatherings specifically for individuals in Canberra and the region who are combining measurable interventions for social, cultural, economic and environmental purpose with business-to-consumer or business-to-business trading models.

More than just traditional business networking, their aim is to provide a space for deep conversations where community and social enterprise practioners can support, challenge and affirm each other in their for-purpose activities.

The audience is diverse and includes social entrepreneurs, community development practitioners, students and social impact investors.

The events for 2020 are semi-structured and generally have themes in areas where there is potential cross over between those community social impact areas and social enterprise business. For instance, for a particular theme, they may have a presentation from a mainstream not-for-profit provider of services in that area as well as feature a keynote from a social entrepreneur who is using trade to intervene in the same area, sharing their learnings of using income from trade to build sustainable change.
