Pitch Your Passion 2020 is coming!

Women with Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) began Pitch Your Passion as a way to create more performance and leadership opportunities. If you’re a young person with a disability, this is an opportunity for you to get onstage and express yourself in a loving and supportive environment. The next variety show will be held in March 2020 in Canberra.

If you’re a young person with a disability, Pitch Your Passion is an opportunity for you to get onstage and express yourself in a loving and supportive environment.

So, if you’ve got a story, topic or idea that you’ve been wanting to share with a live audience, and you’re a young person with a disability or mental health challenge aged 16-27, we would be delighted to hear from you.

A workshop will be held in late January 2020 in Canberra to give participants a chance to build connections, rehearse and build their confidence.

Performers and speakers will each have a ten minute slot to perform or deliver a speech of their choosing.

We welcome all different types of performance – we welcome dancers, singers, slam poets, circus, comedians, drag queens. Whatever you enjoy doing, we want to see it!

Likewise, speeches can range in topic – share your story or deliver a TED-style talk on something you’re passionate about, your struggles, something you love, something you hate or a topic you’re just really passionate about, Pitch Your Passion is interested in hearing from you too.

Performers and speakers involved in this event will receive a scholarship from WWDACT to work with a mentor in their chosen field of performance to build their skills, confidence and leadership.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Kat at katarinareed@gmail.com by the end of December.

Aboriginal Australians, people of colour and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as trans and gender diverse people are strongly encouraged to apply.

So, if you’ve got a story, topic or idea that you’ve been wanting to share with a live audience, and you’re a young person with a disability or mental health challenge aged 16-27, we would be delighted to hear from you..
