Individual volunteers supporting Special Olympics ACT golf - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards

The individuals supporting Special Olympics ACT Golf are a finalist for the Excellence in Volunteer Support award at the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards

Malcolm Brown, Denis Donoghue, Neville Gathercole, Gareth Dear and Kerry Atkins are a group of volunteers who have been instrumental in supporting the Golf program of Special Olympics ACT managed by Joyce and Albert Green.

They have provided the guidance, training and support for people with intellectual disability to develop their golfing skills, engage with other Special Olympic Athletes and other golfers in the area, and access opportunities to represent their state and country.

With the volunteers' supports each athlete builds confidence, friendships and community spirit.
