Jenni Heckendorf launches memoir Through the Years

To celebrate International Day of People with Disability (I-Day) Jenni Heckendorf recently launched her memor Through the Years at Harry Hartog Bookseller.

"Though she left us last year for sunny Queensland, Jenni will always be in the Canberra community's heart.  Jenni spent 18 years here with her husband, David, and much of her memoir is set in Canberra."...

"Jenni wrote much of the memoir with eye-gaze control technology - eye movements are tracked by a camera which moves the mouse on the computer screen.

It has taken Jenni around 20 years to write, and it is definitely worth the wait for her readers.

The development of 'Through the Years' was assisted by an Australia Council Grant and Belconnen Arts Centre's IGNITE Creative program." (See the Inclusive arts and performance page and this ABC News article).

Jenni was joined by her husband David Heckendorf. Previously, David was a member of the ACT Inclusion Council
