The Diversity Team, Department of Health - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards
The Diversity Team at the Department of Health is a finalist for Inclusion in Public Sector Employment at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!
The Diversity Team with the Diversity, Leadership and Learning section at the Australian Government Department of Health fosters inclusion on a broad scale within the Department. The team works to improve the employment journey for employees with disability, and to increase supervisor capability to recruit, retain and manage staff of all abilities. The team supports the Disability and Carers staff network to celebrate dates of significance, including Carers Week and the International Day of People with Disability, and monthly events to increase confidence.
The Diversity Team is assisting the Training team to develop a range of training experiences to increase disability confidence across the Department and are also working on an update to the Department’s Accessibility Action Plan, with a focus on training staff and increasing confidence.
