Daana Restaurant - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Daana Restaurant is a finalist for the Inclusion in Private Sector Employment award at the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

Daana Restaurant in Curtin has been supporting inclusive employment opportunities since 2015, engaging and actively support training placements from The Woden School and disability support and employment service providers.

Peter Bartholomew has been with the Daana team since 2016. Peter is a person with Down syndrome, but that has not hindered his personal growth within Team Daana, where Peter performs set tasks and duties with minimal supervision. His confidence grew through his work at Daana, enabling him to take on employment with the Ginninderry Community project team, where he works as an office assistant.

Owners Sanjay and Sunita Kumar continue to actively seek and support employment opportunities for people with disability. Daana hosts Karma Kitchen events, raising funds for various organisations within the community that are supporting people with various needs and personal challenges.
