Disability Justice Reference Group - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards
The Disability Justice Reference Group is a finalist for the Championing Human Rights and Equality award at the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!
The Disability Justice Reference Group was set up to assist in the development and implementation of an ACT Disability Justice Strategy, which was launched this year with its First Action Plan.
During the development phase of the Disability Justice Strategy, this reference group provided advice on priority inclusions for the Disability Justice Strategy, fostered cooperative linkages across the justice and disability sectors in preparing the strategy; and ensured the lived experience of people with disability was central to the Strategy development.
Co-Chairs Heidi Yates and Dougie Herd and the other members of the Reference group gave their time and expertise, prioritising attendance at meetings and championing disability justice work through their professional roles.
